- Please take a moment to pray for the leaders of the Francophone world and the countries they lead. This week, our focus is
Chad;
we are praying specifically for Idriss Déby, President and Albert Pahimi Padacké, Prime Minister.
One of the world’s most corrupt countries, Chad needs a just and stable government. Resentment between tribes prevents Christian witness, while
poverty and instability hinder training of pastors and evangelists. Praise God that Bible storytelling and Chadian Arabic Christian radio help
spread the gospel in culturally relevant ways. Violence in nearby Darfur at the hands of other Muslims caused some to question Islam, and open to
loving ministry and witness. Chad has more unreached peoples than any other country in Africa! The Saharan peoples (Sunni Muslims) dominate politics
and are among Africa’s least evangelized. Another people group to pray for are the Shuwa Arabs. Even though their language is the main language of communication,
missionaries have rarely reached out to them.

- International Francophone Day was March 20th and many places around the world also celebrated a “Francophonie week.”
As celebrations of the French language and Francophone cultures are fresh on people’s minds, our desire is that some will gain a burden to pray
for French-speaking peoples. We can also pray that others will sense God calling them to long-term ministry among the least reached of the
French-speaking world (like the many groups in Chad we’re praying for this week). Finally, for French speakers themselves to gain greater access
to the gospel. Approximately 212 million people speak French as a first or second language, while an additional 62 million speak it as a foreign language.
Beside English, French is the only other language taught in every country of the world.
- We continue to need funds to reprint the Sunday school literature for Africa.
Would you continue to lift this concern up to the Lord as you prayerfully considering your involvement in this project.
