For BLF
USA ...
- We are almost two weeks into our Muslim prayer focus; thanks for praying with us. Some this Ramadan live with concerns about loved ones
who have embarked on the perilous Mediterranean journey to Europe. While over 211,000 people have safely arrived in 2016, some 2,900 have died (1000 more
than during the same time last year). The newly arrived include nearly 9000 from Francophone Africa, especially least-reached Senegal, Guinea, Côte d'Ivoire,
Mali and Morocco. Let's pray for them!
- In 2008, the World Evangelical Alliance helped launch World Refugee Sunday (WRS), which falls on either side of World Refugee Day (June 20).
This means you can still observe WRS on June 26, even if you missed last Sunday. A wealth of resources can be found
here and
specific prayer ideas
here. You can learn about a refugee center in northern France
here.
Please pray that these migrants would experience the kindness of Christians and God's healing forgiveness (and that they can share it with their families back home).
Pray too for those currently involved in outreach to these precious people.
- Finally, pray for Vincent, a French author writing a BLF book on showing hospitality to foreigners -- a needed resource as migrants continue to pour into Europe.
