BLF Day of Pray & Fasting - January 6^th, 2010

Dear Friends,

Thank you for joining BLF in our weekly Prayer & Praise. We appreciate your fellowship and partnership in this ministry.
Thank you for praying for these items of interest and concern to BLF. Your prayer is important. God bless you!

The Psalmist uses the phrase, "Give thanks to the Lord" at least 13 times in his writing. Do you think it's a phrase he wants us to register? He uses it along with the following phrases:
- for His love endures forever
- for He is good
- for His unfailing love and his wonderful deeds...
Surely, the Lord is good, and and His love endures forever. He has indeed done wonderful deeds for BLF, and one of them is giving us many wonderful friends and faithful supporters. We'd like to begin 2010 with a day of prayer and fasting, praying for the needs of our friends and supporters.

We count it a privilege to pray for concerns many of you have shared with us recently...
- Jean asks prayer for her son who needs the Lord
- Virginia has a son who needs a job
- Dave has serious health concerns
- Ruth has Parkinson’s disease
- Dave is still teaching physics and praises God for it
- Melvin enjoys volunteering at a local bookstore
- Thelma is concerned about her health
- Betty has dizzy spells
- Rebecca, home schooling her 2 kids, requests prayer
- Claudette has stability issues
- Jonathan is out of work
- Rachel has a bad cold
- Merideth has anxiety problems
- Peggy has a daughter going blind
- Pat has pain in her knees
- Charlotte has cancer
- Bruce needs more staff to work with trouble youth
- Sharon has 3 boys with anger issues
- Marilyn prays that her family would come to know the Christ of Christmas
- Lisa has financial concerns
- Willetta praises God for good health
- Mary has a grandson in Iraq, and requests prayer for safety
- Robert praises God for a steady job
- Liz is working on a Master’s program - pray for perseverance
- Marcia has cancer
- David praises God for good health
- Jake has cancer of the ear
- Roger asks prayer for 2 couples going out as missionaries
- Arthur is concerned about his stocks in the stock market
- Cliff has pain in his legs
- Len prays for continued good health after his cancer surgery
- Janette has recently been diagnosed with cancer
- Martha has glands causing health problems
- Stan is seeking wisdom in regards to retirement
- Norm is concerned about his health breaking down

We GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD for each one of you, our faithful prayer supporters. Thank you for sharing your concerns with us. We count it a privilege to join you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to partner with BLF in reaching the French-speaking world for Christ.

As per Sunday, Jan 3rd... "Please uphold my family. My father passed away this evening."
Pray for Mary and her family as they deal with sorrow and grief.

Nationality: Canadian

Family status: Married for 37 years

Children: Joshua (34), Tamara (32), Priscilla (30)

Position with BLF: Executive Director & Director of Personnel & Communications, since 1999

Location: Carol Stream, IL

Local church: Wheaton Bible Church

Local church involvement: Members, members of adult community (Community for Christ), Team Leaders for WBC mission trip, Volunteer in visitation and tutoring program.

Hobbies: Harry: The "Mac", eating.
Mars: Reading, cooking, sewing, puzzles of all kinds

Passion: Living a 38 year honeymoon that’s still improving!
Missions, Reaching the (French-speaking) world for Christ.

Other interests and responsibilities: 5 beautiful grandkids, marketing on the internet.
