BLF Day of Prayer - June 4th, 2008

Dear Friends and Co-workers,

As you think of BLF this week, please pray and praise with us for these items of prayer.
Your participation before His throne of grace in prayer is a source of great encouragement to us.

Meditation:
In John 17, just before His arrest, trial and crucifixion, Jesus prayed for His disciples, and for all believers that would come after ...so they may be one as we are one...protect them from the evil one....that all of them may be one...may they be brought to complete unity.

Just as the Father and Son live in total harmony and unity, so it is His will that His children, likewise, live in harmony. The evil one is working to disrupt, sow dissension and destroy but Jesus has prayed and is praying now, that His children will resist the evil one and live in harmony according to the will of the Father.

Pray for this harmony for the BLF Europe meeting this week. Many issues on the agenda could be problematic and the evil one would like to divide and destroy. Jesus desires submission to the Father, rejection of personal agendas, and harmony in the body. Pray we will choose harmony.

EUROPE

  • BLF Europe Board meetings, June 4. Many potentially divisive issues will be addressed. PRAY for God's intervention, God's touch on our hearts, ...God's will being the most important issue.

  • Martine Stamp (wife of BLF Europe Board President, Alain Stamp) underwent surgery Monday, June 2nd. Pray for healing, relief from pain, patience in the process, and especially that a second surgery will not be necessary.

  • From Kevin Egglelston: (IT Europe Coordinator) Pray for the Vehicle Replacement Matching Grant project. We spent 800 euros this month to keep the Peugeot 806 running. Fortunately, we were able to sell the Opel, rather than spent the necessary 2000 euros for repairs it needed.

Pray for safety for the teams as they work in the print shop and travel to France For Christ locations.

  • Pray for traveling safety for Heidi Kapitaniuk as she attends her father’s wedding in the U.S. this week. Pray too for Philip as he takes care of the children while still keeping up on work and Board meetings. Pray for an extra measure of God’s grace and enabling during this time.

  • Pray for Roger & Rosemary Saxe as they continue to enjoy their work at the print shop. Both have been down with a flu of some kind and would appreciate your prayers for renewed health and strength.

  • Bud & Char Kroeker will return to Belgium June 6th after visiting the US. They were able to visit several churches, and spend time with family and friends in Indiana, Pennsylvania and California. The highlight, no doubt was their daughter’s graduation from USC with a PhD – congratulations, Esther! Please pray for Bud and Char as they travel, visit, and share in churches.

  • Nathan Phillips arrived in France, May 31 after a 2-year absence. Pray for all the details that need to be cared for. Pray he won't be overwhelmed as he looks for an apartment and furniture, hooks up with electricity, water, telephone, finds & buys a car, chooses a school for French language studies, the list goes on and on... Please keep Nathan in your prayers

  • From Mary Cayot:
    Prayer Requests:
    • To be able to sleep through the night instead of awaking between 3 and 4 a.m. every morning.
    • Kareem, the university student who came to “American Night,” that he will come to know God.
    • As we are folding, collating, binding, and trimming the New Testaments. We have faced many equipment challenges already.

  • Cherise Lacaze arrived at the print shop recently for a 2-month stay. Please pray for God’s presence with her as well as His guidance for her future.

BELGIUM

  • Please continue to pray for the sale of the land surrounding the old print shop in Brussels.

  • Pray for volunteers to work with Anne and Nadine in the bookstore. Funds are limited, but the need for workers continues.

CANADA

  • From Priscilla Wiebe (BLF Canada office manager) We are praising the Lord for Rob's new job - it fits his time requirements and lifestyle requirements wonderfully. We are so blessed.

  • Pray for us as June is a VERY busy month. Pray for wisdom and discernment - we seem to always feel lacking in those areas.

  • N.T. Printing in Canada
Please pray for the printing of 10,000 New Testaments (NT) in Manitoba for the Quebec Hope 2008 celebration July 31- Aug. 10. All of the files need to be provided to the printer this week if we are to get the NTs to Quebec on time for the big event. Pray the enemy will NOT succeed in delaying this project and that the NTs will be available for distribution by the end of July (there's not much time left).

USA

  • Dave Brown (US Board member) has had a myriad of doctor visits and consultations relating to his heart and thyroid problems. He is hoping they will be able to install a dual devise that acts as both pace maker and defibrillator. Pray the doctors will have God wisdom in all decisions related to Dave's health. Pray Dave & Mary will be filled with HIS peace & calm as they wade through this quagmire of
    health issues. Pray for healing.

  • From Thom & Sharon Schutt:
We want to thank everyone who prayed for us during our trip to China to adopt our 2-year old granddaughter, Addie Jialin. It was a wonderful trip. For those who were aware that we'd been told that Addie had some "psycho-motor developmental delays". we are happy to report that there are no signs of any delays whatsoever. Prayers for her healing have been answered and we are all praising God. We were also in China when the earthquake occurred but were far enough away not to have felt anything. Thanks to all who prayed.

  • Mike & Laura Jensen,
    Praises:
    • For Andrea's wonderful grades and good finish to her senior year at Black Forest Academy (BFA).
    • For all of the support for Andrea's schooling.
    • For all of our faithful supporters who have blessed us during this time of furlough.

    Prayers:
    • For safety as we travel for Andrea's graduation and bring her home.
    • For the funding of BFA's final bill, of which we still don't know the total!
    • For Andrea as she prepares for College - it starts on Aug. 21.
    • For Laura and Mike as they sell the mobile home and make decisions regarding the future.
    • For our travel schedule to visit supporters this fall after taking Andrea to school, though we may see some on the way as well!

  • From Russ & Mary Ann Miller:

    PRAISE
    • for a safe trip in the Midwest during the month of May. We made contacts with churches that are new to BLF. PRAY these contacts will produce results for BLF.

    • that the situation in Chad has calmed for the present and some of the missionaries have returned. PRAY the Lord will guide clearly as other missionaries seek His well about returning. Our daughter's family are traveling in the USA during the summer and hope to return to Chad in mid-February.

    PRAY
    • as we line up two more trips this summer. We plan to be in Nebraska in June, and in the eastern states later in the summer and early fall.

  • Pray for Walter & Nancy Zurfluh as they continue actively to travel promoting BLF, while at the same time dealing with Walt’s health (heart) issues. Pray for health and strength as they serve so joyfully!

  • Pray for Dave & Uni McEntee, (BLF Alumni) as they travel in Canada and Idaho. They write: We praise God for the continued ministry of BLF and families.

  • From Sue Gross (US office receipt-ist)
Please pray for my oldest son, Michael (age 13), who has to have some more extensive tests done to try to determine why he has been sick so often this year. Pray for accurate results and hopefully quick and easy solutions.

  • Please pray for Harry Enns (Executive Director) as he travels to Europe and back, and especially for his participation and interaction with the Board members and other BLF staff working there. Pray God would have total freedom to work in and through him to achieve results that will be to His glory!

Harry & Mars Enns

We praise & thank God for all the friends and supporters of BLF.
Without your continued prayer support for this ministry,
our efforts would be futile.

May God bless & encourage each of you.
