BLF Day of Prayer & Fasting - February 6th, 2008

Dear Friends and Co-workers,

As you think of BLF this week, please pray and praise with us for these items of prayer.
Your participation at the throne is a source of great encouragement to us.

BLF EUROPE

Alain Stamp (BLF Europe Board President) - Please pray for the following:  Fatima Kachou is an Algerian muslum. She and her husband work full time with Child Evangelism (AEE) in Bordeaux and often make trips to Algeria to evangelize children. At one of AEE's seminars where I was the speaker, I suggested they write a book for the series 'New Beginnings' on the theme, 'I'm 11 years old, and life scares me.' They are presently working on it.

Rapahel Anzenberger has written his first book in the series, 'New Beginnings'. We were hoping to publish it in February but alas the editor is sick, so there has been no progress.

Francoise, our main editor, has been sick for the whole month of January. Pray for her health.

Pray for another person to help with the editing. This is a priority need.

Our BLF Europe team is rather fragile since the departure of 3 of our staff, Mike, John and Fred in the last few months.

Olivier Drogue – PAO - Graphic Artist
Pray for the follow up of the BLF Europe Board meeting, 2/5/08

Pray for the physical & spiritual renewal of each member of our staff.

Pray for wisdom as we restructure BLF Europe, set priorities, and choose where to invest our energy.

Roger & Rosemary Saxe
We are very thankful that Rosemary is back in France after her month back home, but she is experiencing a difficult readjustment. We think it may be due to culture shock and to irregular exercise. Diabetics are especially sensitive to change. Pray that she will sleep well, feel well, relaxed, and energetic.

BLF CANADA

Rob & Priscilla Wiebe (Board member and Office Secretary)
Pray for Rob as he has developed tendonitis in his shoulder. and as we consider what changes need to be made in his work in order for us to have a healthier and less frenzied lifestyle. Our goal is for his Youth Pastor position to go from half time to full time, but right now our church is not ready to do this. Pray we'll have wisdom to know whether we need to wait where we are at, or move on. (As a diabetic, this is important to his overall health!)

Pray for me (Priscilla) as I prepare the tax papers for the government, as this can be a bit stressful. Both our little ones (Jesse & Cassidy) are sick with colds which means interrupted sleep. Pray for healing for them and protection from illness for Rob and I.

Praise: We are thankful for a strong marriage and faith that helps us get through these frustrating times. We are also thankful for the many friends and family that surround us with prayers and encouragement. We are abundantly blessed!!

Mark & Immie Larson (Board member)
Please pray for Mark as he’s in Niger for another three weeks. Pray for health, safety, productivity... And for us (Immie & the kids) here in -30 degrees, with flat tires, snowy driveways, and strong-willed children.

Ron & Barb Plett (Board President)

We are thankful with and for our friends Tim and Elsie Kroeker, who gained custody of their grandson recently (both parents of the little boy are unable to parent him, due to addictions).

Praise for a very successful Mission Fest, February 1-3.  Many people showed interest in our BLF display, and we were blessed to be able to hand out a good deal of material pertinent to our Mission. Much interest was expressed in the Hope for Quebec 2008 celebrations.

Our home church continues to struggle with some very deep leadership and congregational issues. Please pray with and for us that the Holy Spirit will bring healing and reconciliation to all sides of this very divisive situation.

Prayer for Barb (my wife) as she is planning a trip to Mexico at the end of March, to visit a missionary friend of some 30 years, who is with Wycliffe in Oaxaca doing translation work.

BLF USA

Mike & Laura Jensen (Home assignment in CA)
Praise for mom's latest test showing no signs of cancer! Praise for Gods provision of our home here in CA and our being together. Praise for Andrea's 3.77 gpa on her first semester grades. Praise for the anonomyous gift that covered the January payment of her tuition at Black Forest Academy.

Pray for mom to gain strength as she is still very weak. Pray for final provisions of Andrea's schooling. Pray for Andrea's college decisions. Pray Mike and Laura as the they finish work on the house and start planning furlough travels.

David & Uni McIntee (BLF Alumni)
Update on David's dad, Bill (hospitalized with a collapsed lung): his condition has worsened and they have put him on a respirator. The doctor informed us "it could go either way". All David's sibs (6 total) are flying into Fresno - only 1 is a Christian. God is sovereign and in control and we are trusting His leading and timing. Pray especially for his salvation! We appreciate your prayers Dear BLF family.

Russ and Mary Ann Miller (Reps)
Praise for good health. for the fellowship of friends. At this time of year when winter storms are blowing up north, many "escapees" come to Florida and visit us. We are blessed to be able to enjoy their visits.

Prayer requests:
1) Please be praying for us February 7 - 10 at a missions conference in Sarasota FL. Besides manning our display, we'll have 6 opportunities to speak to various groups, two of which are sessions Mary Ann will have with children.

2) Pray for the members of our Impressions Team scheduled to serve in France April 3 - 14, as all of us are preparing spiritually, culturally, emotionally and physically.

3) Pray for our daughter Susan, her husband Scott and their four young children, missionaries in Chad, as rebel groups are trying to overthrow the present government. Pray there will not be a lot of bloodshed and that the fighting will end soon. Many have evacuated, but the missionaries have hunkered down and are staying in their homes. Please pray for their protection.

4) Pray also for our son Jonathan and his wife Heather who work with Samaritan's Purse in southern Sudan. Jon is coordinating the distribution of Bibles in the Bari language and training leaders in the various areas to do Bible studies and discipleship. Heather is a nurse and takes care of the health needs of SP workers on four bases.

Walt & Nancy Zurfluh (Reps)
Praise for a good missions conference at Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, CA on January 25-30.   We were greatly assisted by Kevin & Debbie Eggleston who expect to leave for France in March to serve as host and hostess for the upcoming Teams. They were effective in talking with the church people and students at San Diego Christian College located on the same campus. The adults showed much interest in the Impressions Teams.   A significant amount of BLF literature was distributed.

Pray for preparations for our speaking engagements in May in northern California and Oregon, especially that we may achieve a full schedule for presentations of BLF's ministry.

Pray for four missions conferences locally in which we will participate during the next three months. We are seeking prayer partners, short-term and career missionary workers and Impressions Teams.

Pray for Walt's sister who recently suffered a mild stroke. She is a pastor's widow living in Abilene, KS, and has been placed in an assisted living home. Pray that she will be able to speak clearly again.

Ron & Sharee McMahon (Board member and IT Leaders)
Praise that 6 people are going to France on our May 1-12 Impressions Team.  Pray for two more people to join us.
Ron and Sharee McMahon

Pam & Gary Ryerson (IT Leaders for March)
Please pray for the work team we’ll be taking to France in March. One person in particular (a guy that would be a perfect fit for our team) is not going to be able to go. It won't work for him financially even with our help, and airline tickets have gone up, but I don't doubt God can produce a miracle. We can go with a team of 6, but 8 would be better. Harry  & Mars Enns (Executive Director) will make up part of our team, and Kevin & Debbie Eggleston (Host & Hostess) will also be of help with the apartment renovations.

David Wooddell (Board member)
Praise for God confirming the work of our hands! Psalm 90:17

Pray for the transition from full time secular work to part time, as I transition to ministry with The Navigators.

Pray for Real Life Downtown, a new marketplace ministry we launched in downtown Kansas City March 4th.

Sue Gross (receiptist in US office)
I praise God for the opportunity to serve God through my work at BLF.

Tyran & Marcella Laws (US IT Coordinator)
We thank God that the Lord has shown himself faithful yet again. Marcella passed her Illinois Pharmacy Law exam and now is a R.PH in two states, which has alleviated some of our major financial problems. Ooo Thank ya LORD!

Prayer request: We are trying to find members (preferably college or college age students) to join our July IT for 2008. Right now we do not have any definitive members. So please pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send forth laborers into the harvest.

Pray for revival to start in the heart of my youth ministry. They are really facing some difficult problems of succumbing to sexual activeness, combating emotional abuse, and parental neglect for some of the youth. So we are asking saints from around the world to join our youth ministry in prayer and or fasting starting  on the Day of February 18, 2008 until the weekend of Resurrection Sunday; the weekend of our youth retreat.

Harry & Mars Enns (Executive Director)
Praise the Lord for a safe trip to Canada last month, for all the friends and supporters we were able to visit, and for the 2 churches in which we were privileged to speak. We praise the Lord that these trips also allow us to spend time with our children and grandchildren!

Please pray for our daughter, Tamara, who left February 3rd for her next 6-month contract on Celebrity Cruise Lines. Pray God will continue to use her as a witness for Him. Pray too for the loneliness factor that makes it difficult for her.

Pray too for Mars as she’s been down with a combination of cold, cough and sore throat for the past 2 weeks. Recovery is slow – she gets rather frustrated knowing the work is piling up.

We praise God for the privilege of serving Him through BLF. It is a pleasure to work with the gifted staff God has given us and we have some of God’s choicest servants as co-workers in BLF. We praise God for everyone of them.

We praise God for all the friends and supporters of BLF. A special thanks to everyone who is praying and/or fasting with us today. May God bless you abundantly as you serve Him in your community.

Harry & Mars Enns

We praise & thank God for all the friends and supporters of BLF.
Without your continued prayer support for this ministry,
our efforts would be futile.

May God bless & encourage each of you.
