Russ and Mary Ann Miller, Ambassadors, SE Region
Pray for Mary Ann working on a BLF writing assignment due by the end of July. The Millers are
planning to travel for BLF the last part of August and the first part of September. Ask God to
open doors of churches and individual families for the Millers to update those who support BLF through prayer
and finances.
Russ and Mary Ann Miller ask for prayer for their daughter Susan and family, missionaries in Chad.
They flew back to Chad on June 29 after furlough, spent a week in quarantine, and are now preparing to drive to
their place of service. Each member of the family has been sick (not Covid) and Susan sprained her ankle badly.
Please ask God to restore their health and take them safely over the 500 miles to the town where they live and
minister.
The Millers’ youngest son Jonathan and family, serving with Samaritan’s Purse in Uganda, will be
returning to Uganda at the end of July. Please pray for a safe trip and for God’s strength as they carry out their
heavy responsibilities. Praise God for the Millers’ missionary heritage passed on to their children and for their
willingness to let their children and grandchildren follow God overseas. “Only be careful for yourself and
watch over your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not
depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and your grandsons.”
Deut. 4:9

Chad
More than 200 ethnic groups live in this African nation. The north is dominated by the Sahara
and occupied by Muslims, while the south is lush, tropical, and mainly occupied by Christians
and animists. The nation has been ripped apart by civil war, and 80% of the population lives
below the poverty line. Medical care and services are greatly lacking, and the death rate from
HIV/AIDS is the fifth highest in the world. Chad is one of the few Muslim nations that welcome
missionaries, and many Muslims are craving to hear the Good News. However, in the past thirty
years Islam has increased, as have concerns that religious freedom may disappear. Bible storytelling
has proven effective around the nation, and many unreached people are hearing the Gospel for
the first time through both indigenous and expatriate missionary efforts. Chad has more unreached
people living within its borders than any other African country. Unity is being broken within the
Church due to an increase in nominalism and the pervasive practice of indigenous tribalism. Chad
has been torn apart as a nation and as a Church. Unification and reconciliation are desperately
needed.
Pray for the Church to be both burdened and equipped for evangelism among an increasing
Muslim majority. Pray for pioneer missionaries to persevere in difficult places to reach the unreached.
Pray for integrity and honesty to rule the nation and displace government corruption. (Information and

Haiti Bible School construction - July 2021

Haiti
We can certainly praise the Lord that despite a tumultuous time in Haiti following the
assassination of the president, the progress on the construction of the Bible school is
very much alive. This past week the gates to the campus were put up. The next priority
is building the classrooms. A course has been taught, and the students were given books
that BLF sent to Haiti for them.

DRC
John Makoba, Enoch Ngungu and Pastor Jonas taught 250 candidates from several churches
from Mukedi and surrounding areas who were all very excited to be part of the Sunday
School training. Pray about the spiritual and social impact the Sunday School teaching
will have on children and the friends with whom they share it.
