“I’ll pray about that”
One of my pet peeves is when someone says, with varying degrees of intent, “I’ll pray about that”.
Somehow it just brings to mind the compelling need for immediate action so as not to
forget about “getting the job done” - to genuinely pray about something - to be before God’s throne of
grace and mercy.
We have a responsibility before God when we make a commitment like that before others. Being before His throne is a
privilege and honor that is especially important during these days. Besides, lifting one another up in prayer is
essential.
James 5:16 states “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you
may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.”
As a trusting believer in Salvation through Jesus Christ, our care and love for others is, in part, manifested when
we pray for one another – making “intercessory” prayer for those who are in need of God’s
rich grace and mercy.
If out of your mouth you share a commitment like, “I’ll pray about that”, make absolutely sure you do whatever you can to
honor that commitment – it’s an awesome responsibility and privilege!
Please remember to pray for the Francophone world, that they might know the One who is faithful to answer prayer and
to honor His gift of salvation to all who choose to believe in Jesus as their Savior.
May God richly bless you as you pray and praise!

- Please pray for Haitian pastors who don’t have Bibles.
Pray that the Lord can arrange for them to get their hands on a copy of the Word of God so that they can teach it
to the people in their care.

For
BLF USA ...
- Please continue to join us in prayer for the upcoming BLF Board meetings October 20/21st in Wisconsin.
We ask for God’s leading for strategic planning, safety in travel and His continued guidance and will for the work of
BLF.
- Senegal became politically independent from France in 1960. President Macky Sall and Prime Minister
Mohammed Dionne lead this country of poverty and high unemployment. With an economy largely based on subsistence agriculture,
many Senegalese attempt dangerous and illegal sea voyages to the Canary Islands in search of work. Life is hard and lonely
for those who make it. Some send money home to support family. More than 55% of Senegal’s population are under the age of 20
and may be more open to gospel.
Senegal enjoys religious freedom and tolerates many faiths, but few Muslims there have ever turned to Christ. 85% of
Senegalese Muslims belong to one of the Sufi brotherhoods.
Pray for the government leaders! Pray for the many unreached people groups (especially the Wolof, Fulbe, Jola, Maure and
Malinke peoples)! Pray for more Christian workers and leaders! Pray for a spiritual breakthrough! Pray for the street
children and for the more than 400,000 children considered at risk throughout Senegal! Pray, Pray, Pray!
Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work.
