For Wednesday, September 6

He died, that we might live.
Labor day, Monday September 5th is a day that was conceived by trade unions in the 19th century as a day set aside
to celebrate labor. In the U.S., this is recognized as a federal holiday.
This year, 143 days earlier,
on Good Friday, a greater labor occured. A greater labor that was embodied in this truth that
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) 143 days earlier,
we give thanks that Jesus, willfully went to the cross to carry with Him our sin - to pay the penalty we fully deserve.
What a friend we have in Jesus.
Romans 10:9
140 days before Labor Day,
on Easter, the reality of a greater celebration was upon us. A celebration that Jesus rose from the dead
and He is alive NOW!
We would challenge you this Labor Day, to give thanks and celebrate the good news that Jesus IS our Messiah, our Savior.
It is His labor that is paramount.
If you celebrate that news, pray that on this Labor Day, others would
celebrated Him as well - including the Francophone world. "That every tongue should
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord."
Philippians 2:10-11
May God richly bless you as you pray and praise!

For BLF
USA ...
- September 5th is the International Day of Charity, established with the objective of sensitizing and
mobilizing people, NGOs (non-governmental organizations), and stakeholders around the world to help others through volunteer
and philanthropic activities. Many Francophones reside in areas of great need. God’s love can be shown through us when we help
others in a charitable way. Please pray that such opportunities would not only provide help for present physical circumstances,
but show them their spiritual need for the one true Christ.
- Please pray this week for the people of the African Islands of Mauritius and its President, Ameenah Gurib,
and Prime Minister, Anerood Jugnauth. Mauritius enjoys freedom of religion but its multi-ethnic and multi-religious society make
evangelism a challenge. Intravenous drug use among young people here is 2nd-highest in the world. Delivering Christian resources
to these remote places is expensive, limiting their availability. Praise God that the Bible Society in Mauritius distributes over
200,000 Scripture portions each year to all the island territories of the Indian Ocean. Pray for wisdom and discernment among
Christians to show Christ in ways that draw these precious lost souls to Him. Pray for the Spirit to open their eyes to the one true God!
I Timothy 2:5
“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.”
