- This week, we ask you to pray for the people and government of
French Polynesia. Please pray for Édouard Fritch,
President of French Polynesia and High Commissioner René Bidal. An overseas collectivity of France made up of 118 islands in the
South Pacific, French Polynesia’s traditional values and culture have been disrupted by outside intervention leading to reliance
on foreign aid. The simpler island life and attitudes are a thing of the past. For economic and education reasons, more move overseas.
We praise God for French Polynesia's strong Christian history; however, today, many are Christian in name only. Not all of the groups
can easily understand Tahitian and so some are without access to the Bible in their language. Please pray for followers of Jesus to be
salt and light in the many scattered islands and for those who are seeking to reach these precious people.
